One of my first. It was a dream client who came to me after 2 years of nose-to-the-grindstone portfolio work. They gave me a shot, a hand-picked crew of my favorite people, and a creative direction I could really get behind. The shoot went off without a hitch, and the results were what everyone wanted (myself included). It ended up being the first of many projects I've done with them.
The more I work, the more I see myself as a director. The creativity comes from a sum of all parts. I love when a project comes up and I know exactly who to choose for makeup, exactly who for hair and so on. It's like putting a puzzle together, and then working the light to tell the story.
Too many to list that are too easy to indulge. I love climbing (I'm a boulderer, through and through) and coffee, single malts, blends, beer and conversation. Taking my kid anywhere I can think of to spark his curiosity. I love books, both English and Japanese (although the latter is usually manga, and my collection is kind of insane). Also, despite my complete inability to cook, I'm all for any entertainment food related.
