The art of styling is knowing what has been, where things are now and the subtle signs of what’s next.

Fashion II

Mallory Hublein

What did you do before becoming a stylist?

I have a degree in Textiles and Apparel Design from The University of Texas with a minor in Business. I won 'Most Marketable Collection' and 'Best Wedding Gown' at my senior show, which helped propel my move to NYC after graduation. I interned for Alice + Olivia and Doo.Ri before landing a position at Anne Klein. After my stint in New York, I returned to Austin where I have been freelance styling for over 5 years.

What are your interests outside of work?

My latest passion is for vintage denim - a true iconic piece of American history. You can usually find me hunting around thrift stores and small towns looking for beautifully worn and unique pieces. Sunshine and the outdoors are always a plus, so I try to spend as much time with my husband and friends around a picnic table at Yellow Jacket or lying in the grass at Barton Springs. Life gets busy, but I strive to try new things as often as possible because I find that it's the new or unexpected experiences that makes life interesting.
